    1. Security is one concern that has been bothering not SEMs in India, but large corporations all over the world. Any how, when it comes to big data, then it's not just the volume, but variety of data obtained from various sources that we deal with. Hence, differentiation and filters can be applied. Information which is highly confidential, say employees' information or financial assets may not be put on cloud, but semi-structured and unstructured data can be put on cloud and the sense that you make out of it belongs to you if done in-house and you can do anything with that or if done by an analytic company, it can be shared by others too. As written in the article, past, current and expected trends, company wise, industry wise across a period of time and varied economic conditions can be analysed and made business sense out of, by you. The Big data wala people need not have all the information but most of the data which is humongous in size. The can sell data shared by you, but not information in your hands till you allow. There can be a collaboration by sharing of mutual benefits between a set of SMEs monitored by regulations etc. Today, data is everywhere, both coming out of your organization and otherwise. So, it's the same with everyone in industry. You too can buy information from Big Data wala people. I hope it helps to some extent.

  3. Good post with very well quoted statistics. SME's are often misunderstood, and lot of people aren't sure exactly what exactly they do.
